Reflection of “How Economic Development Helps the World’s Women”
According to Richard Florida, in the article “How Economic Development Helps the World’s Women”, he discusses that economy is related to women’s rights. GWI, which is called the Global Women's Index, has shown people that a country's economy is related to women’s social status.  Florida believes that women face less discrimination and they will be more respected by others in developed country. The places that are more appropriate to women’s live are Europe, North America and Australia, says author. There are many reasons why women in developed countries can have higher level in society. For example, people who live in developed countries believe women have the same abilities for jobs as men. Due to women have better social abilities people believe that women are even more suitable than men in post industry. However, women who living in some countries like Asian, South America, and Africa, are difficult or impossible to achieve individually economic opportunities and equal rights. According to Florida, women’s social’s status does not only help women to get more rights, but also improve the level of economic development. The higher social stats women get, the better for the society to develop.
Many researches have shown that the economic development can help women to have more rights and higher status in society. Since women are more suitable in postindustrial economy, people should pay more attention to women, action is louder than words. In the near future, Women will dominant the middle class and as people are more educated, women’s social level will be another higher level.

Reflection of “ Women in Saudi Arabia to vote and run in elections”
According to the article “Women in Saudi Arabia to vote and run in elections”, King Abdullah made his speech that women in Saudi Arabia are able to vote in their municipal elections. Women in Saudi Arabia welcomed this announcement. Many people think this is a big move and development for a very strict country where like Saudi Arabia is very conspicuous. Emily Buchanan says that this reform will help to achieve women’s rights more or less. However, people who are against these actions are conservative clerics and some people of the royal family.
Letting women to have the rights to vote is a good sign of reforming. First, it has shown Kind Abdullah’s resolution of achieving the equal rights. In this civilized society women to be equaled is not only a global goal to achieve, but it also helps a country’s economy grow. Secondly, women and men have different way of think and doing things. Women are tended to be perceptual, and men are tended to be rational. However, sometimes men could be too tight to following the regulations. If women are able to run as candidates, it will help Saudi Arabia’s government to be more flexible and efficient. Therefor, fundamentalists still think idealized pass is better than nowadays, but equality between men and women is a must. Overall, to achieve this goal is a long way to go, but as time goes by, people will see the benefits of this movement.

Reflection of “Girls Missing in Asia”
Throughout the history, women seem like have never been easy. Many people have been fighting for women’s rights for a long time, and it has been successful in many ways. However, there are a part of group females not as lucky as those women who benefit the women’s rights. Some of them were even killed before they can have their first breath. In many developing countries, female babies are facing sex selection, abortion and female infanticide problem.
According to the article “Infanticide, Abortion Responsible for 60 Million Girls Missing in Asia,” Sherry Karabin thinks that female babies’ sex selection, abortion and female infanticide are getting serious, and it will have a further consequence. Due to the lack of government protection and the influence of the traditional culture, there are at least 60 million girls that already missing. Boys are often seeing as a combination of responsibility and power. For example, the one child police in China makes people had to choose to have a boy rather than a girl. The imbalances between males and females bring many problems to the country. India is also similar to China. The preference to have a son for continuing the family name and supporting the elders are is rooted in people’s mind, and somehow, let a girl to get married needs to spend more money on dowry than a boy. Those reasons caused 25 million men could not find a wife. However, Chinese and India governments realized the seriousness of this problem would direct affect their country’s future. Abandoned the law of sex identification without a medical requirement was one of the responses China has made. Not only China and India is facing this problem, but it also has caught the whole world’s attention. Although, the most dramatic thing was the propose of eliminating infanticide and gender selection did not pass due to the opposition from China and India, South Korea was one of those supporter.
Over all, I think gender selection abortion is mainly based on people’s own culture. The more traditional people are, the more serious this problem could be. The way to remit this problem is to publish a law to protect female babies, and encourage people to love their babies no matter which gender. Women also can do as good as men in nowadays, even women can do better in some areas. However, achieving this goal could take a long time, but from a long-term point of view, this is good for human’s future.
